Staff & Management Training

Our consultants and trainers have logged thousands of hours in the training room working with executives, managers, team leaders and staff.  While most of our training programs are customized for clients, we do offer a number of "off the shelf" programs to address generic needs.  Some of our trainers are certified in other programs such as Carlson Learning and Achieve Global.

Team Development Program

This half day program focuses on helping new or familiar teams better understand their approaches to problem solving and how they can better learn from that process.  Particular attention is paid to the individual learning styles of members and how they combine to form a team "learning space."  Participants learn how to better appreciate all sides to a problem and how to better use a systematic problem solving process to improve team effectiveness.

Staff Development Program

This five module program is designed to empower all individuals within an organization by helping them to learn about how they learn in the workplace. The individual is challenged to plan and implement learning strategies that lead to competency development while the organization is better able to match jobs to the talents of its people. The modules are entitled:

Learning and developing at work
Communicating at work
Managing conflict
Problem solving
Teaming with others

Team Leader Program

The Team Leader Program is intended to address the learning needs of the new supervisor/manager. The content of the program focuses on the definitions of leadership, leadership style,motivation of self and others, approaches to coaching others, and dimensions of interpersonal competence in organizations.  Module titles include:

Building and Maintaining Teams
Directing  Others
Motivating Others
Giving feedback to others
Interpersonal Influence

Management and Leadership Program

This more extensive program is designed to help experienced managers and supervisors enhance their management practice.  Often times, this program includes participant feedback using a multi-rater feedback tool such as BenchmarksŪ. In any case, the program focuses on tools managers can use to increase their effectiveness.  Modules include:

Results Oriented Management
The Leadership Challenge
Influencing Others
Coaching and Developing Others
Building and Sustaining High Performance Teams
Taking Control Of Change

Train the trainer

Dr. Poirier's work as founder and director of the MS in Training & Development at Lesley College positions him as an expert in developing the competencies of other HRD practitioners.  He has led countless training sessions on HRD competencies and coaches many directors of training & development.
