Coaching

More and more attention is being paid to individualizing the development of talent in
organizations. Our clients have increasingly asked us to engage their key players in
coaching and mentoring settings, which we have successfully done.
Our typical coaching engagement is six months in
duration and includes a five phase process.
1. Exploration: In this initial meeting with a prospective client, we
explore the reasons for wanting to engage in a coaching relationship, both
personal and organizational. 2. Assessment:
In this phase we identify any instruments or data collection that might be
needed as a means of identifying strengths and development needs for the client.
These may include 360 degree assessments or self reported inventories.
3. Learning agenda formulation: This step is
focused on developing learning goals and performance targets that the person
being coached would like to achieve. The learning agenda is completed
collaboratively by the coach and client. 4.
Implementation and feedback: During this phase, the client and coach meet
regularly to review progress and address hurdles and obstacles. Meetings
are typically face to face but also include phone briefings.
5. Evaluation: At the evaluation stage,
clients assess the value added of their development efforts. There is also
a decision to terminate the coaching relationship or renew the engagement for
another cycle.
