John Poirier Ed.D., SPHR

John Poirier is a consultant in Leadership and Organization Development.   As part of his practice, he takes on the roles of executive coach, consultant, trainer, and facilitator to help clients develop the competencies they need to enhance organizational effectiveness, team learning, and individual performance.  John’s combined expertise in Business and in Human Resources Development allows him to directly link corporate strategy to people strategy. His varied experiences as a corporate manager, management consultant and college professor help him relate to clients using their own frames of reference.

As a consultant, John has worked with client organizations both large and small in the public and private sectors.  Corporate clients have included large organizations such as Anheuser Busch, Avery Dennison, CVS, Cisco Systems, Crabtree & Evelyn, Fidelity Investments, Gillette, Hewlett Packard, Johnson & Johnson, Lifeline Systems, Parexel and Wachovia.  John has also worked with privately held organizations such as Action Automation, Domain Home Fashions, TAC Worldwide, and Tuition Management Systems.  Public sector and not for profit clients have included government agencies such as the Seven Hills Foundation, Internal Revenue Service, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the US Forest Service. 

Dr. Poirier is also a faculty member in the department of Management at Bryant University where he teaches courses in Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior. He is also an adjunct faculty at Boston University and the Glion Institute for Higher Learning in Switzerland.

John earned his Doctor of Education degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He also holds an MBA from Bryant University and a Master of Science in Human Resource Development from American University in Washington DC.  John also holds the SPHR designation from Society for Human Resource Management.
