John M. Poirier,
Ed.D.
John Poirier is a consultant in Human Resources and
Organization Development. As part of his practice, he takes on the roles of
consultant, trainer, coach, speaker and educator to help clients develop the
competencies they need to enhance organizational effectiveness, team
development, and individual competence. John’s particular areas of expertise
are competency-based management & staff development and data-based approaches to
employee engagement and customer satisfaction.
As a consultant, John has worked with client organizations
both large and small in the public and private sectors. Corporate clients have
included large organizations such as Anheuser Busch, Avery Dennison, CVS, Cisco
Systems, Crabtree & Evelyn, Gillette, Hewlett Packard, Johnson & Johnson,
Lifeline Systems, Major League Baseball, Microsoft, and, and Wachovia. John has
also worked with privately held organizations such as Action Automation, Domain
Home Fashions, Prism Health Group, TAC Worldwide, and Tuition Management
Systems. Public sector and not for profit clients have included government
agencies such as the Academy for Educational Development, Head Start, the
Internal Revenue Service, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Mass Dental
Society, and the US Forest Service.
Dr. Poirier is also a member of the faculty at Bryant
College where he teaches Human Resources, Organizational Behavior and Business.
He is also an adjunct faculty at the Boston University HRE program, the University of Phoenix
and at Glion Institute for Higher Learning in Switzerland.
John earned his Doctor of Education degree from Nova
Southeastern University. He also holds an MBA from Bryant College and a Master
of Science in Human Resource Development from American University in Washington
DC.
